BY KOURTNEY WEBB Jordan Jeffers, 26, a Marketing Major at York College, said that within the first few weeks of Donald Trump’s presidency, he proved to not have all people who reside in the United States in mind. The #travelban affected even the most unlikely of places. New York Deli owners shut down their delis, grocery stores and bodegas in protest of President Donald Trumps ban on immigrants from seven Muslim-majority countries, many of which these shop owners call home. The shopkeepers rallied at Brooklyn Borough Hall, waving U.S. and Yemen flags according to NBC news. Trump has offended many people. One of his most unforgivable offenses were directed towards women who have been victims of sexual assault. While both men and women can be victims of sexual harassment in the workplace, women make up nearly 80 percent of the victims. President Trump believes that if a woman is being harassed, she should leave the work place. “I would like to think she would find another career or find another company if that was the case,” said President Trump in an interview with USAtoday. Oneika James, a York College business management major said she thinks Trump is unfit for office. “I think he is very unprofessional,” said James. “He doesn’t know anything about politics. He is a racist and a sexist and we don’t need that type of person running the free world.” #trump #yorkjournalism

York College Student Calls President Trump “Muslim Hater” By Ashley Oliver York College Computer Science major, Ahmed Saïid, said he is disgusted with President Trump’s new executive order that bans 6 Muslim countries in the Middle East and Africa from entering the United States. Saiïd believes that this ban will me a major contributing factor to the seemingly increasing prejudice in America. Trump imposed the 90-day ban on travellers from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. Although all these countries are Muslim, the president claimed that he is not attacking Muslims- he just wants to protect America from terror. #trump #terror #ban #trumpban #iran #sudan #ashleyoliver #terrorist #yorkcollege
