- Data from the New York City Department of Health says the Omicron Subvariant makes up for 99% of all tested cases in the city.
- Moderna and Pfizer have managed to secure F.D.A approval to authorize a 4th vaccine dose for adults 50 and older and are pushing to make it available for all adults.
- The World Health Organization says that although the subvariant is highly transmissible there is no definitive evidence to prove that this variant is vaccine-resistant or has led to severe infections.
