Tell me, If one day I happened to say those three magical words after a splendid evening Would that have changed everything?
If I sat down, wrote you a poem, and turn it into music
Maybe one day it would become a hit or a classic
Will it mean anything?
Let’s say within fifteen years or less
I’ll take you out to dinner, and you wear your favorite dress.
We will talk, laugh and dine
As we have an enjoyable time.
As you sit back and take a sip of your wine,
Out of the blue, I’ll get down on one knee and look you in the eyes.
As I look you in your eyes I can see your soul gazing back at mine.
Melodically I will recite that one famous line.
Tell me, If I display affection and passion in the most overzealous way
What would you do or say?
If I told you I want to be beside you until I’m old and gray,
until my final day, down to the last minute as I pray
that the lord doesn’t take me away
What will you do or say?
As I take my final breath, fall in your arms, and close my eyes
Will you let me go or hold me tight?
Tell me, would you rejoice the moment that I died
or be filled with a silent outcry.
Tell me, if we went stargazing under the moonlight sky,
filled our faces with Pie
Enjoyed each other’s company for the night
Tell me, if I recite those three famous words in a moment’s time
Would you stay by my side or
Would you run and hide?
Tell me, If I told you that our love could outmatch that of Poe’s and Annabel’s Would you believe there would be a story to tell?
Tell me, If I said our time was a precious gift, and i was elated
Would the same feeling be reciprocated?
Or would there be a sense of hatred?
You may possibly think these words were exaggerated.
I assure you, there is nothing complicated.
Except for a broken heart that seeks to be reprimanded.
Tell me, If I recite those three famous words using a band Would it be grand?
